The Post feels betrayed because the Chinese have not become more democratic since being awarded the Olympics. (But they promised!)

Stylistically, I have to call out the Post for this sentence: "The jury is still out as to whether the air will be clear enough for athletes to deliver peak performances."
"The jury is still out?" Really?
One of my first paid print jobs was as a stringer covering high school football games in Greensboro, North Carolina. I wrote that a late score was the "final nail in the coffin" for the losing team.
My editor told me to cut the line because it was a cliche.
He was right. But apparently he does not work for the Denver Post.
