The Post criticizes the federal government's implementation of new passport regulations. The Post earnestly hopes the feds do better.
Of course, the Post misses the larger point.
"The failed execution of this one program has now uncovered the fact there are broader problems systemwide that the State Department must fix," said Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., who had asked for GAO scrutiny of the passport process.
The Post quotes Sen. Nelson, but fails to recognize that those "broader problems systemwide" apply to the entire government.
The only effective way to help the feds do better is to make them do less.
