In an article ("Penry's speech rips Dems' policies, blames GOP for losses") by Denver Post political reporter Lynn Bartels, Penry was quoted as saying
"Republicans in Congress doubled the national debt in a span of eight years. Shame on us," he said. "The reality is we are in a political ditch in part for those errors."
The first step in solving a problem is admitting you have the problem. Unfortunately, the Rrepublicans still have 11-steps to go in the 12-step program, and there is little reason to believe they can recover from their collective love with big-government. They have had plenty of chances, and they keep blowing them.
